The Hyperconnected Enterprise: When Unknown People Have a Say in Your Business Decisions
Organisational boundaries are blurring and disappearing. In the “hyperconnected enterprise,” dozens, possibly hundreds, of people can influence decisions about direction, services, products and reputation, randomly, across global markets and outside official channels. • Where does the hyperconnected enterprise come from? Why will it matter? • Which assumptions does it create? Dispel? Renew? • What are the looming implications for business and IT leaders?

As an Australian icon, Australia Post has achieved enviable results in revenue and profits for the past decade. It's breadth of operations is significant, employing in excess of 35,000 people delivering mail, parcels, logistics services and supporting a significant retail network. The vision at Australia Post is to operate as an 'integrated enterprise'. However current business processes and technology limit that capability. This presentation will illustrate the journey Post has been on for the past 2 years in firstly understanding the 'what', and then the 'how' in moving to this vision. SAP is a key enabler in this journey but business engagement and support is critical for this journey to be successful. Wayne will discuss how building an enterprise blueprint of the future led to the establishment of Post's Business Integration Program, the program that will deliver the vision of an 'integrated enterprise'.
